Explore the Gulf Coast! Biloxi Mississippi / New Orleans,
I’m originally from Florida, so we have traveled to Florida on Vacation a million times! Therefore, needless to say my Daughter is burned out on Disney and Universal Studios! This is my Daughter’s Senior Year in High School and she is asking to go somewhere different, other than the usual Spring Break Spot of Panama City Beach (PCB).
So in true Go 2 Rose fashion, I began to look for somewhere different to Vacation. I came across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I know what your thinking “Mississippi?” “Vacation, New Orleans Spring Break?” I was thinking the same thing!!! However, I was pleasantly surprised. The Missisppi Gulf Coast is lined with beautiful White Sandy Beaches and Biloxi is like a mini Vegas and April is a great time to Visit New Orleans because the French Quarters Festival was held on the 2nd week of April this year! Great Place to Vacation!!!
I planned a 5 day Vacation (from Wednesday thru Sunday). (3) days in Biloxi and (2) days in New Orleans! Our vacation began in Biloxi MS. It was our plan to stay at Harrah’s Casino from for our (3) days in Biloxi. However, due to our horrible experience with a Smoky Non-Smoking Room; we decided to switch our Hotel to the Golden Nugget Casino and Resort, which was the Best Decision Ever! This is a brand new Hotel and all rooms are Non-Smoking which is awesome!! The Golden Nugget Biloxi is ultra Modern and has one of the Best Pool Areas that I’ve seen in the Southeastern Region, it’s home to a full Casino, Starbucks, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Morton Steak House, Lillie Asian Cuisine (sushi), Michael Patrick’s Sports Bar, The Buffet. www.goldennugget.com/biloxi
Some of the fun things that we did while in Biloxi: Of course we enjoyed all of the amenities of our hotel such as the pool area, the H2O Lounge area with fire pits and Swim Up Bars, the Casino (for those of us who are 21 & older), Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, The Buffet, and an assortment of sweet treats!…..We enjoyed Miles and Miles of White Sandy Beaches! The Light Houses and Lit up Boardwalks are beautiful to view from the beach at night! …..We also took a short trip (17.9 miles) to the Institute for Mammal Studies in Gulf Port, Ms. They offer a Dolphin Encounter Program which we chose for $65.00 per person, which allows you to meet face to face, feed, touch, and interact with Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins from the dock of their Dolphin Habitat. You also have the option of entering the water with the Dolphins for $95.00 per person. Both options come with a FREE picture that comes in a really cute souvenir card. You also have the option to purchase an additional (10) photos of your experienced photographed by a Team Member of the Institute for Mammal Studies for an additional $35.00 or you can pay a Spectator Fee of $11.00 to stand on the side and take your own pictures. I chose that option (2) reasons: Cheaper!!! and you can take as many pictures as you would like! You can find information on this and much more at imms.org , mississippifun.org , or gulfcoast.org
Will post Pictures and Information about our 2nd Stop…New Orleans Very Soon!
